Solving the Mystery of Mysteries!
Mysteries have several sub genre; detective, crime, thrillers and suspense. Most mysteries follow the same character in a series of books, inviting you to become attached to the characters. Often a mystery's main appeal is the location or time in which the story takes place.
They can also be broken out by types -
amateur detectives - often have contacts in the police force
cozy mysteries - little violence, oriented to solving the mystery, often with humour and eccentric characters
historical mysteries - easy way to learn history
police procedurals - also known as true crime
private investigators - often in first-person narrative
