First Wednesday of each month at the Main Library - April 1 from 4 to 5:30 PM Intro to Ancestry.com.

Second Monday of each month at the Louise Childs Branch March 9, April 13 from 3:30 - 4:30 PM

For kids in grades 4 and up.

Each month we'll introduce you to a new software or app and let you loose to explore or play Minecraft, Wii, Scratch 2.0, etc.

Bring your laptop or tablet.  Our number of laptops is limited.

Let's make things do stuff!  Work on one project for several weeks or pick a different project each week.

Each child will be allowed a full 10 minutes of one-on-one reading time. The dogs provide an uncritical ear while the children gain self-esteem, confidence, public speaking skills and a love of reading. The dogs never interrupt or criticize!

Read to a Dog

 Children ages 5-10 are invited to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a certified therapy dog or Seeing Eye Puppy-in-Training.

Louise Childs Branch: Tuesday,  March 24  Sign up for 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 or 5:00 pm.

Main Library:  Tuesday, March 10, April 14.  Sign up for:  6:00, 6:15, 6:30 or 6:45 p.m.

Franklin Branch:  Third Thursday of each month, March 19. Sign up for: 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, or 4:15 pm.

Dennis Branch:  Monday, March 23.  Sign up for:  6:00, 6:15, 6:30 or 6:45 p.m.  Please arrive on time with a couple of books or early enough to pick out some library books.

We'll be featuring a building challenge for older kids.

Makerspace Night @ the Sussex-Wantage Branch

Friday, March 20 we'll host another Makerspace Night. Our theme will be "Fabrics and Fibers". 

We'll be making and experimenting with non-traditional materials.  Bring your ideas.

For all ages through adult.   Come and go as you like.

No registration required.

Makerspace will not be meeting in April as the Friends fo the Sussex-Wantage Library are hosting their book sale.


 


 

Recycled Crafts Class @ the Sussex-Wantage Branch

For kids ages 6 - 10 years old.

Led by award winning journalist and public speaker Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta.

Fun, interactive program where creative sparks fly and old junk and trash can become a child's masterpiece.

R. E. A. D. Book Club @ the Main Library

Fourth Saturday of each month at 2 PM for kids ages 8 - 11 only.

The R. E. A. D. (Reading Excites Average Days) Book Club started in the summer and it wants to keep going!  Activities, friendship, great books and of course - fun!

Please register beginning two weeks before each date so that we will have enough supplies.

 


 

Teddy Bear Sleepover @ Dennis Branch

Monday, March 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. 

Drop off and register your teddy bear on Monday.  If you wish, you may read it a bedtime story and tuck it in before leaving.  Come back the next day to pick up your bear and some library swag.  Come to Lap Sit at 10 AM or Story Time at 1:30 PM or anytime before closing. We'll be showing a slide show of the crazy things the bears did overnight.  Don't have a bear?  Bring another stuffed friend. 

But DON'T BRING SOMEONE YOU NEED TO HELP YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT! 

Please register as space is limited to 12 children and one bear each.


 


 

6th Annual Touch-a-Truck! @ the Main Library

Wednesday, April 8 from 11 AM - 12 PM.

During Spring Break, so bring the entire family.

Visit and touch all kinds of trucks!  Get your photo taken with Bob the Builder!

Bring your camera and dress warmly.  We will be running the program rain or shine.

Percussion! @ the Sussex-Wantage Branch

Don't miss this Precious Gems Music's presentation of all things in the "Percussion" family - from the djembe to the cymbals.  This hands-on presentation will open your eyes to the world of persussion with the roots from the MIddle East, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
