Eager, Edward. Half Magic.  The magic charm always grants half a wish - but which half?

Funke, Cornelia.  Ghosthunters Series.  9 year-old Tom Tomsky can't catch a break, he's a klutz and he just found a ghost in his cellar.

Funke, Cornelia.  Inkheart Series.  12 year-old Meggie learns that her father, can "read" fictional characters to life.

Sage, Angie.  Septimus Heap Series.  Septimus Heap discovers his real family and true calling to be a wizard.

Scieszka, Jon. Knights of the Kitchen Table. The Time Warp Trio find themselves in the Middle Ages - can they escape a dragon and a giant? Can they ever get home again?

Snicket, Lemony.   Series of Unfortunate Events Series.  An unhappy tale about three unlucky children, even though they are charming and clever.

Snyder, Zilpha. Black and Blue Magic. Harry Houdini Marco sprouts wings.

Stroud, Jonathan.  The Bartimaeus Trilogy.  Nathaniel is a magician’s apprentice in modern-day London.

Winthrop, Elizabeth. Castle in the Attic. William receives a toy castle, a figurine, and the story that the figure will one day come to life.

Wrede, Patricia. Dealing with Dragons.  A princess moves in with a group of dragons.
