The Main Library archives a Sussex County History collection that includes a selection of maps.
The Dorothy Henry Library in Vernon has an extensive vertical file of local information.
The E. Louise Childs Library in Hopatcong has a strong collection of local information that includes reference materials, township codes, a vertical file, and photographs.
The Franklin Library houses the Stephens Collection that includes books, maps, photos, letters and articles collected by F.J. Stephens, a Franklin, NJ native and former college engineering professor. The subject matter of the collection pertains to the history of mining in the Franklin area.

Sussex County Library has been a depository for United States Government publications 1986. It is a selective depository, receiving 10% of the publications distributed by the Government Printing Office (GPO). Our holdings include books, pamphlets, maps, microfiche and electronic resources.
These publications are available for browsing, photocopying, and in limited instances, for borrowing. We have computer workstations in each library branch that provides access to the many government resources on the web as well as through this website.
